Thorn is close behind, slightly wary and cautious since Courtney's description of the fellow they've come to meet. On the one hand he has no place to complain, as he's been looking for work ever since Hipplytah sold the pub, on the other hand Courtney has told him his potential employer is very odd. He is uncertain quite what an alchemist is, or does, but as Courtney's uncle's fate seems to lie in this man's glass hands, he is willing to help. Aloysius worries him, tall and disapproving of everything, but Courtney loves him. For Courtney's sake, Thorn would give up his own heart.
Thus he steps lightly into the laboratory, and surveys the mess with a gaze that cannot distinguish the proper equipment from the rubbish. He'll need training, but he will learn quickly indeed.
